REVIEW: MALLZEE: Personal Shopper App!

Hey guys, today I wanted to talk about a cool new app I have recently found out about called Mallzee

So, what is Mallzee?

Mallzee is a personal shopper application that you can carry around in your pocket whenever and wherever you are. Mallzee tailors to your own personal style, which saves so much time because you can find exactly what you want easily.

The Mallzee app offers over 200 brands, some of my favourites including ASOS and Topshop - with that much variety there's definitely something for everybody. When you're looking at a product you can also simply swipe to the left for a 'YES' or to the right for a 'NO' - a feature that helps the application to further specify your tastes. As well as this, there are many other specification options which means you can really refine your search and find exactly what it is you want - an element of the app I particularly love and this saves so much time!

Aswell as filtering through products for your and finding stuff to suit your own personal taste, the app has a nifty little twist which allows you to share items with your friends who can then comment and give their opinion on it - potentially saving you from a fashion mishap! I think this is a really awesome idea because it provides a great social edge to the application, as if you're out shopping with your friends - but in the lovely comfort of your own home! Perfect for when you want a lazy day but want to treat yourself to some retail therapy.

Personally, I think this app is a great idea. It saves time, energy and best of all you can find some lovely new additions to your wardrobe with the touch of a button! What's not to love about it? I'd highly recommend it, especially for those of you who love to online shop like myself.

If you're interesting, the app is FREE to download from the ITUNES store which you can get to here

So, my favourite. I think choosing just one favourite blog is going to be pretty hard so I'm going to start at the beginning. Getting into makeup and beauty, one of the first blogs I ever really looked at was www.xSparkage.com. xSparkage is a fairly popular makeup guru on Youtube and she was one of my main inspirations to start getting more interesting in makeup and beauty a few years ago. It was actually her Youtube I discovered first and from ther I found her blog.

What I love about the blog and xSparkage is her fun and colourful personality - something that is really communicated through the site as well. I love the bright, beautiful and imaginative makeup looks that she creates and her tutorials are really simple and helpful to follow. A lot of makeup blogs always feature very 'normal' looks and I really appreciate her love of colour and all things bright. Even if you don't like bright makeup so much, she provides a lot of variety so there is something for every makeup enthusiast to enjoy!

So yeah, that's my favourite blog - what's yours? Don't forget to check out Curry's competition!

EASY BAKING: Nutella Cookies!

Hey guys! This post is going to be a little bit different from the usual posts I write... it's going to be about baking! Yeah, these past few days I've been on a bit of a baking buzz and I made some cookies which were super easy and very delicious. So, with that I thought i'd share the recipe with you, enjoy.

So, these cookies are Nutella cookies and they are very tasty. Although I wouldn't quote myself on it, if you don't like Nutella, I'm sure you can take a similar product or spread type dealio and make cookies out of them too using the same technique! This recipe makes you around 20 medium sized cookies, just cut down the amount accordingly if you want less or vice versa if you want more. The ingredients you will need are:

  • Nutella (400g)
  • Plain Flour (250g)
  • Sugar (200g)
  • 2 Eggs
  • Vanilla Extract (1 Tablespoon)
First - pre-heat your oven to around 160 (if your oven has a fan) or 180-200 if it does not. Also, make sure you grease proof some baking trays with a bit of butter so your lovely cookies don't stick.

Next, add all of those ingredients to a bowl or a food processor and mix, mix, mix until it forms a dough consistency. At some point, you may want to go in with your hands (which is what i did) to really make it form into a dough. If it's too crumbly, add a little bit of water and if it's took sticky, add some more flour to the dough and keep needing it in.

Once your dough is done, break it up into little tablespoon sized balls and place them on a tray. Use a glass and roll it over the balls to flatten them into cookie shapes. The cookies will spread out a little more whilst in the oven, so make sure you leave a little gap between each cookie so you don't end up with one giant one - unless that's what you want of course...

Now, once you're done pop them in the oven for around 12-15 minutes. Take them out and let them cool for around 10-20 minutes and enjoy your delicious Nutella cookies!

That's about it - if you try this recipe let me know how it goes! Thanks for reading this post and leave any comments or suggestions below.

The BH Cosmetics 120 Eyeshadow Palette.

Hey guys, today I've got a review for you all (kind of) on an eyeshadow palette that I recently picked up. I think the palette in question is a perfect starter palette for people who are maybe just getting into makeup and want something to start their collection off.

The palette I'm talking about is the BH Cosmetics 120 1st Edition palette. This contains 120 eyeshadows ranging from matte, to satin to shimmery finishes. It has host of shades with neutrals and brights so it's got a lot of range for you to create a lot of different eyeshadow looks.

In terms of pigmentation, you'll be quite impressed. The BH Cosmetics palettes are very popular in the beauty community - you'll see a lot about them on Youtube especially. The eyeshadows have really great pigmentation for such a small price tag. Of course, they aren't going to be great without the aid of primer - but that's not a big deal considering you'd probably be using a primer of some kind anyway. Some of the shades you will have to pack on the keep the intensity as well.

The packaging is nice and simple - and very sturdy too which is great if you're going to be storing the palettes away because you don't have to worry about anything breaking.

Overall, this is a really good starter palette. It's perfect for experimentation and practise because of it's  low price tag. I got mine for £16.95 from Amazon!

So yeah, I'd definitely recommend this palette. At that price for 120 colours, I really don't think you can wrong. I think I'll be checking out their others palettes in the future too.

Mini Beauty Haul! OCC, MAC, Sugarpill!

Hey all! I have a little beauty haul for you all today. All of these brands that I'm about to show you are all from America and besides MAC, can't be found in stores (as far as I know) - not easily anyway. I got mine from a great little site called Cocktail Cosmetics - they stock loads of different amazing brands that would otherwise be difficult to get hold of here in the UK - you should check them out! This is my first product from each brand I'm about to talk about and they're sort of on the higher end in terms of money - hence why I haven't bought from them before. Despite this though, I felt like treating myself a little bit and I've really wanted to try some of these products for ages.

The first I got was a MAC lipstick. Of course, we all know about MAC - it's rave about by people all over the world so I was quite confident in making a purchase from theme despite having never tried any of their stuff. I think MAC are probably most well known for their lipsticks, especially the one I purchased: Russian Red. Russian Red is a beautiful deep red shade and it has a matte finish. Considering the prices of MAC lipsticks (£15), I really wanted a shade I knew I'd get a lot of wear out of and I think a red lip is a classic that most women love.

Next off, I got an OCC Lip Tar - probably the product I'm most excited to try. It's in this absolutely beautiful purple-pink matte shade called Hoochie. One of the reasons I knew I wanted one of these is because you literally have to use the tiniest amount of product to cover your lip. I tested this out myself and I can confirm that is definitely the case - I'm really impressed. I just know this is going to last me a long time AND you get a free mini lip brush with it as well - definitely worth the price.

Lastly, I purchased a Sugarpill single eyeshadow in the shade 'Tako'. It's more or less a matte white although it does have speckles of shimmer running through it. It's super pigmented and that's one of the main reasons I purchased this as I personally find it difficult to find a decent, pigmented white. Also, I absolutely LOVE the packaging!

And that's it for my haul, I hope you enjoyed! I'll be sure to review these products once I've tried them a few times. Have you tried any of these products?

The Naked 3 Palette.

Hey guys! Today I've got a review for you of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. The Naked 3 palette is full of beautiful, neutral and rosy pink shades.

The shadows come in this beautiful, rose gold hard tin container - something I favour a little more than the original Naked palette as I find it's container wears quite easily whereas this one certainly won't. The eyeshadows are all lovely and pigmented as you'd expect for the price and it features 2 matte shades with the rest being shimmery shades - especially Dust, Buzz and Trick which have lovely sparkly fleck in them.

The two matte shades Limit and Nooner are great as blending colours and in the crease. I find that Dust in particular produces a fair amount of fall out but it is nonetheless a beautiful shade. I absolutely love Strange which is the white in the palette, it makes a perfect highlight for the brow bone. It looks fairly matte and to be honest it is but it does have a little bit of shimmer in it which you can tell when it's on the eye. Despite being themed as an all pink palette, the darker colours don't really have any pink specks or undertones to them with the darkest (Blackheart) having more red in it than anything. Even so, they are still really nice shades and go nicely with the rest of the palette.

Overall, I do like the Naked 3 palette. Visually, it's a beautiful palette to look at - in packaging and with the shadows themselves. In Naked style, these colours are still all neutral and great for everyday with the darker colours allowing you to intensify a look into something more night time if you wish. This is a nice palette for people who want to try something a little more different the standard brown tones but still want something that isn't too out there. My dog seems to approve too!

I got my palette from Debenhams, which you can find on their site here

Thanks for reading this review, I hope you found it help. Let me know what you think of the Naked 3 palette, do you have any favourite shades? Mine are Strange, Dust and Trick!

OOTD: 17/04/14

Hey! Today I'm back with an outfit post for you - with a cheeky little cameo from my puppy, Thor - enjoy!

So, first of all I'm wearing this simple, flowy polka dot cami top. I really love how this fits and fall on me and I think it's a very flattering piece. With this I just wore this thick, knitted cardigan in this lovely brick red colour.

With those two, I wore some mid blue, high waisted skinny jeans and finally my suede Converse high tops!

I'm also wearing a black satchel bag that I purchased from Missguided.

And that's pretty much it; a very laid back, simple outfit - as always I'll list where I got each item from down below!

What I wore and where it's from:

Top - Select Fashion
Cardigan - Boohoo
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Office
Bag - Missguided

UPDATED - Facial Skincare Routine! (Products and Prices)

Hey! In this post, I thought i'd share with you my new and updated skincare routine. Recently, my skin has become a lot more sensitive and this development has caused me to completely change and re think the products I use and purchase for my face and skin. I'm now trying to use things that are all natural and mainly 'simple' - in the sense that they contain no nasty chemicals and perfumes that could potentially cause irritation and harm my skin.

So, these are the products I am currently using - I've also listed how much they are and where you can get them from. I hope you enjoy this post!

In the day time, I firstly use my Simple Refreshing Facial Wash gel. True to it's name, this is a basic, simple product that just helps to cleanse and freshen up my face in the mornings. It lathers really nicely and you only need about a pea size of it to do the job.

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel - £3.25 (Boots).
Next, I use a toner - currently I am using another one from Simple but I alternate between that and the  L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar solution (a good dupe for Bioderma and a product you can also use to remove make up).

Simple Facial Toner - £2.99 (Boots)
For a moisturiser, I use yet another Simple product which is there Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. A little bit of this goes a very long way and it's perfect for those with normal skin that doesn't need anything special or for those of you who have super sensitive skin prone to irritation.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser - £3.99 (Boots)

Night Time:

If I have been wearing make up that day, I like to use cream cleansers to remove it. My personal favourite at the moment is Burts Bee's Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream. This removes make up - even heavy make up - really well and it's very gently and moisturising. I have reviewed this product recently, you can read the post here.

Burts Bees Deep Cleansing Cream - £7.99 (Amazon)
Next, I'll tone again using the same toner I mentioned above and then of course I'll moisturise. On a daily basis, I'll firstly use my Bioderma PP Baume. I use a pea sized amount and massage this into my face and neck. It's very repairing and moisturising for those of you who have sensitive and dry skin - it's really made a difference for me. On top of this, for some extra moisture I also apply my Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Night Cream.

 Atoderm PP Baume -
Simple Age Resisting Night Cream -

For those nights when I want to give my skin that little bit more, I will apply my Vitamin E Serum Oil from The Body Shop. You can find a more in-depth review of this product here.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum - £12 (The Body Shop)

Finally, if I'm having any breakouts, blemishes or spots - I like to apply this Tea Tree Oil treatment that I purchased from Holland and Barrett.

Organic Tea Tree Blemish Stick - £4.99 (Holland and Barrett)

Eyes / Lips:

Sometimes, there are areas of my face that I like to focus on and treat a little bit more. Eyes especially are such a sensitive part of your face that you really need to be careful of what you put there. To keep my eyes nice and moisturised and refreshed I use a Cucumber eye gel from Boots and a Vitamin E eye cream from The Body Shop. Bother products are natural and most importantly very gentle.

Boots Eye Gel - £1.50 (Boots) and The Body Shop
Vitamin E Eye Cream - £10 (The Body Shop)
My lips can get quite dry and cracked now and then and so I like to use a scrub on them. Right now, I'm using Lush's Bubblegum Lip scrub. It smells great and the best part is you can lick it away off your lips once you are done!

Lush Bubble Gum Lip Scrub - £5.50 (Lush)
To moisturise my lips and keep them nice and hydrated, I really love the Burts Bees lip balms. They smell great and are all natural.

Burts Bees Lip Balms - £3.50 (FeelUnique.com)

And that is pretty much everything I use on a daily basis for my face, eyes and lips. I really hope you enjoyed this post and maybe found some new products you'd like to try. Have you tried any of these products - if so what did you think of them? Do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know down below!

MOTD: 11/04/14

Hey guys! Today's blog post is going to be on a make up look...

So, I'm wearing quite a shimmery, neutral smokey eye today. I teamed this with quite a deep, raspberry coloured lip and I think the two go together nicely. Lately, I've been into highlighting and contouring. I've especially concentrated my highlight along my nose and cheek bones. I used a liquid concealer for my contour.

That's the look as a whole, I'll let you know what I used below!

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation (Ivory)
Maybelline Fit Me Concealers (115 and 315)
Benefit's High Beam
Benefit's Eras Paste (Light)
Nars Blush (Orgasm)

Urban Decay's The Naked Palette
Maybelline 'The Rocket' Mascara (Black)
Urban Decay's Primer Potion (Original)
ELF's Eyebrow Powder (Medium)

Rimmel Lipstick

Thanks for reading! Have you tried any of those products listed above? What do you think of them?!

ASOS Haul!

Hey all, I've got a fashion and beauty haul from ASOS for you all today - enjoy!

So, the first thing I got was a black, fitted blazer. This particular one is from Mango and I thought it would be a really versatile and classy piece for my wardrobe.

Next off, I just got a simple, black skater skirt. I think this is pretty much a staple for your wardrobe and I needed a new one!

I also purchase the Tangle Teezer - something i've heard a lot about for quite a while now. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I can confirm that it's all worth it! It's so soft and gentle in the hair and it doesn't pull at all. So far, I really like it.

Next, I got this black choker with a gold heart jewel on it - a simple yet edgy piece. I really like the look of chokers and I think it gives a look quite a grungy, 90's edge.

I also picked up a bun garland from ASOS - I've been loving these lately to add a little something to a hair style.

On to make up now, I firstly got the classic that is Nars' Orgasm blush. For years, I've heard so much about this blush and it really is a beautiful product.

I've been really into highlighting and contouring lately and I wanted to try a liquid product as I usually use powders. I picked up Benefit's high beam to try out - it's a lovely pearly highlight and it looks very pretty on the skin.

And finally, I picked up a lipstick from Rimmel's Kate Moss collection. This is a matte shade and it's quite a neutral, pink colour.

And that's it for my haul. I hope you liked this post, thank you for reading!
